Finding Daniel (Go directly to blog) After seeking the Lord in much prayer and searching the scriptures, our journey into international adoption began in February 2004 as we mailed our application in to Lifeline Children's Services, in Birmingham. Then....P A P E R W O R K.. did I say "paperwork"....yes, PAPERWORK, paperwork, and more paperwork!! Trips to Birmingham, home visits, Three twists and turns on finger prints and three twists and turns of medical forms .... and... wala! Seven months later we were off to Montgomery with our completed dossier, ready for Alabama State Apostille. To the right are some pictures taken while at the capitol of Alabama (August 04). The lady with Lauren, Zachary, and Hannah is from the Secretary of State's office in Alabama. She was so gracious and helpful. I believe we were the last family to be assisted by her before she retired. What a blessing she was. She had our 18 Apostilled documents completed in a very short time that day. We had time to tour the capitol building while she worked on our documents. 12-20-04 Update (01-18-05: see blog for the
latest): We are now working with our facilitators and the Director of the NAC to get our appointment date. We recently FedEx'ed a letter to the Director requesting a date as soon as possible. At this time, we are still unsure when we will be traveling. Please continue to pray for us that we will follow God's leading and not try to get ahead of Him. Pray also for the Director and our facilitators in Ukraine. |
